Cancellation & Refund Policy

Transparent and fair cancellation policies to give you peace of mind while booking your next journey.

1. General Provisions & Scope

This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the terms under which Host My Vacation (operated out of New York, USA) processes cancellations and issues refunds for travel services booked through our platform. Because Host My Vacation acts as an intermediary online travel agency (OTA), the specific cancellation policies set by independent suppliers (airlines, hotels, etc.) will always supersede our general platform policies.


2. Standard Cancellation Terms (Hotels & Vacation Rentals)

Unless bound by a stricter supplier agreement, the following standard cancellation windows apply. All cut-off times are calculated based on 11:59 PM in the local time zone of the booked service.

60+ Days Before Check-in100% Refund (minus 5% fee)
30 to 59 Days Before Check-in50% Refund (minus 5% fee)
14 to 29 Days Before Check-in25% Refund (minus 5% fee)

3. Product-Specific Policies & Deductions

Flights: Airline tickets are generally non-refundable once ticketed. In compliance with US DOT regulations, flights touching the U.S. may be cancelled within 24 hours of booking for a full refund if booked at least 7 days prior to departure.

Deductions: Eligible refunds are subject to a strict 5% platform processing and administrative fee plus any specific penalties imposed by the end-supplier.


4. Host/Provider Cancellations & Force Majeure

Host Cancellations: If a Host or Service Provider cancels your booking, Host My Vacation will provide a 100% full refund of all amounts paid (including platform fees) and offer rebooking assistance.

Force Majeure: In events like natural disasters or government travel bans, refunds are highly dependent on the end-suppliers. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive Travel Insurance.


5. No-Shows and Early Departures

Failure to arrive without prior formal cancellation constitutes a "No-Show" and is subject to a 100% penalty. Early departures or cutting your trip short are also non-refundable for the unused portion.


6. Refund Processing Timeline & Method

Timeline: Once approved, we initiate the refund within 3 to 5 business days following our recovery of funds from the Service Provider. Bank processing may take an additional 5-10 business days.

Method: All refunds are issued back to the original method of payment to comply with AML regulations.


7. Dispute Resolution & Contact

Please contact our support team to seek a resolution before initiating any chargebacks. Unwarranted chargebacks may result in account termination.
